This three day regatta that took place June 5-7. There were a total of 43 boats participating. They were divided in different classes: F16, Spin Boats, A-Cats & Hobie 16. Friday and Saturday 3 races were had. On Sunday 1 race took place, one race was cancelled.
So there were 7 races in total and the F16's were racing of the new faster USPN handicap which is in ratio identical to the Texel ratings. There were in total 16 boats in the spin fleet and this made for the largest single start with 7 F16's, 7 F18's plus 2 others (N20 and N5.2spi).
There was not 1 race where the race committee was not looking at the weather radar and discussing shortening or cancelling each race. Various thunderstorms passed by and only on Sunday racing had to be cancelled. Matt McDonald: “Given the conditions we had Friday (still got off 3 good races although the last few boats in got caught in quite a wipe out) and that the forecast was for the same the rest of the weekend, we ended up electing to forego racing and help on the course.”
All the spin boats raced together and were also scored together. F16's took first place amidst the F18's and N20's in races 1, 3, and 5. They took second place in race 2 and 3rd place in race 4 and 7.
Matt Lynch and crew won the F16 class, Terry Back came second and Matt/Gina McDonald were third. Full results can be found here: by class and by start.
